I had a very positive experience with Dentavac and Dr. Baez’s team. Dr. Baez is patient, professional and truly great at what he does. He has many years pf experience in implants and what you may need when it comes to your dental needs. I was very nervous at first but after speaking to him, I felt great about the decision I made and wish I came to him sooner. He did a great job putting us at ease for my mom’s full mouth implants 5 on 5. The day of surgery with extractions for her full mouth was a tough day for us but Dr. Baez’s team did a fantastic job, along with the surgeon Dr. Cotto, anesthesiologist, Isabella, Rosie, lady dentist, another gentleman dentist and Hazel. I coordinated with Hazel on my arrival to CR from US and she made everything seamless. I had so many questions and the team answered them in a professional and courteous manner. We are excited to return for our permanent set in fall/winter 2026. We know we are in great hands and it was a great experience! There are lots of options for dental work in CR but Dr. Baez’s practice at Dentavac is the best option out there! His team put my mother at ease, especially this being our first time in CR and not knowing the language or culture. I knew I had major work ahead of me, and I was honestly terrified. A close friend of mine had his All-on-4 done here, and seeing how beautiful his results were gave me hope. He connected me with Hazel, and that one phone call changed everything. From the first moment Hazel spoke to me, she made me feel safe. She was warm, patient, understanding, and treated me as if she had known me for years. She asked for pictures, reviewed everything quickly, explained the process, and helped me understand that I needed All-on-6 upper and lower. R White20 November 2025I had all teeth extracted and implants placed in October 2025 and I am completely satisfied with the experience. I was anticipating the eventual necessity of the procedure for a long time of course, and I was expecting it to be very arduous and painful in addition to being very expensive. But at Dentavac it was not... everything went much more easily than I could have hoped. All of the many people here who participated in my care were superb. For anyone here researching in advance of having similar work done and may be anxious about it, I will describe how it went for me. I was examined and x-rayed on the afternoon of the day I arrived. The following afternoon was the surgery. I was put under IV sedation that was described as "conscious sedation" but I remember nothing after the anesthesiologist inserting the needle until all the work was done. From the next day on I had minimal pain and little swelling, I think a testament to the skill of the surgeon Dr. Calvo. For the rest of my time in San Jose, there were short daily appointments at the clinic where they worked on the temporary denture. The poking and prodding at my gums was a little uncomfortable, but really almost nothing during the entire process rose to the level of "pain". Besides being far more expensive, I also don't believe I could have gotten better care anywhere in the USA. I'm very glad I decided to go to Dentavac clinic.Posted on Google

Nick Sabo27 June 2025I went to DentalVac in January and July of 2024 for full mouth implants after visiting a few clinics in the states. I choose DentalVac based on a recommendation from a friend whom had his implants done there. Even though I talked with my friend and he explained the procedure in detail, you never really know how the experience is going to go. I was impressed from the moment I landed in Costa Rica by the professionalism of DentalVac and it's empoyee's. We were picked up at the airport and driven to our hotel by Juan, who is great! He was our chauffeur during our time in country. Dr. Baez explained the procedure and was sure to answer all my questions. To be sure, the procedure was NOT a vacation but Dr. Baez's entire team made sure I was as comfortable as possible. Dr. Acosta was great and Nico, the person that actually made my implants, explained all that went into making the teeth and fitted and refitted the implants until they were as perfect as can be. And Hazel, what can I say about her? She was my personal assistant during our stay. She scheduled my pickups with Juan, let me know what's going each day and what time. She was the one that recommended a few of the hotels to stay at before we even arrived so we could make reservations. And Rosy! She was the lady that had the most important task of making sure we paid. I think I scared her once when my credit card was declined and I think she was ready to check with Dr. Baez. But all turned out well, as my credit card was approved after I authorized it. And I must mention Dr. Carr, the person that inserted the posts. I don't remember much of that procedure, but after being convinced to use IV sedation, it went well. All in all, the team did a great job and took care of me. And beyond the people mentioned above, all the girls in the office, x-ray, assistants, hygienist, front desk and any title I forgot were great!! Verity Norman-Tichawangana2 April 2025From the moment Juan, the DentaVac driver picked me up from the airport, to the moment he dropped me back again 10 days later, I had the most extraordinary experience with the DentaVac team and can’t possibly say enough good things about them. I needed a huge amount of dental work done, and the cost was prohibitive where I live in the USA. A friend recommended DentaVac so I contacted them and set up a time to get all my work done. In the space of 3 days, I got cavities filled, a root canal, wisdom teeth extracted, implants and more. It was SO much work and was done so expertly and with so much care. I had never been to Costa Rica before, and was nervous about all of it. Hazel, the patient coordinator, was on hand to provide me with so much info and support - before I arrived and while I was in country. The dental team was equally impressive and the care exceeded any level of dental care I’ve ever received in the USA. The dentist explained everything to me in great detail - I didn’t feel rushed or dismissed. Even the view from the dentist’s chair was stunning! (See pic attached). What was very different from dental care in the USA is that the specialists come to you, instead of you going to the specialists. I needed to see an endodontist and an oral surgeon - both of whom work at multiple practices but came to DentaVac to do my work. It was a one-stop-shop! And an affordable one. The work I had done would’ve cost me over $20,000 in the USA. In total, I’ll spend around $7,000 in Costa Rica. They even threw in a teeth cleaning for free! I added on some time to be on the coast during my recovery, which was quite literally a tropical paradise. I spent 3-4 days in Cahuita and so appreciated being in a warm and beautiful environment while my mouth recovered. As a single woman traveler, I felt safe at all times, and in all it was a seamless and enjoyable experience - something I never expected to say about dental surgery in a foreign country! P Smith3 December 2024I Have traveled from Florida to DentaVac for several procedures. Not knowing what to expect, I must say Dr Baez is excellent. He is knowledgeable, patient and kind. Most of all, he did Excellent on all my crowns, etc. Dr Carr did a great job also. The only thing I did not appreciate was allowing the trainees to remove the temporary crowns. When you have someone more inexperienced removing that many temporary crowns, it can be very stressful. Other than that, I would definitely recommend and return if ever needed. Robert Porter Lynch6 September 2024As one grows older, many seniors experience increasing problems with teeth that just plain wear out, despite years of dental care. A friend referred me to Dentavac after my local dental clinic gave me horrible prognosis, recommended pulling six teeth, and a restoration bill over $20,000, which would not be a complete rehabilitation of my mouth. Dentavac's real name is Vacation Dental, and this turned out to be the best dental decision I ever made. I took my fiance, who also needed extensive dental work, on a "Dental Vacation." We arrived in Costa Rica. Dentavac was right inside the airport with a chauffeur to take us to their facility in Escazu -- the nicest part of San Jose. We had full xrays with the most modern equipment, a prognosis that could repair, restore, or rebuild all but 2 teeth that needed extractions and subsequent implants, and gave me a bill that was less than half the cost in the US. By the time we left at the end of the week we both had new mouths, treated by three expert dentists and a wonderful staff. We stayed at excellent hotels nearby and also had a great trip into the mountains to visit a volcano and go "glamping." In the US the time it takes to get anything done is arduous -- with Dentavac, everything is done fast, expediously, and with world class standards and the best high tech equipment. We are extremely satisfied, have beautiful smiles, and still have money left over for another vacation.Posted on Google

The treatment I received from the skilled dental team and support staff at Dentavac was well worth traveling to Costa Rica from the BVI. Now my treatment is complete. I can eat almonds (and the whole buffet). It is comforting to have your detailed questions answered in full. Being in the hands of consummate professionals who care about your results makes a difference. The relaxed ambiance and efficiency of everyone at the clinic puts you at ease. Laughter happens here with team leader Dr. Baez setting the pace. The wizards of Escazu dentistry, both Drs. Acosta and Baez are artists in their field. All procedures from initial to the final crown installation went smoothly, and with very little pain. I was able to eat within a few hours after each procedure. Dr. Acosta was extremely proficient and efficient in performing the procedures. Hazel made sure all communications and appointments went smoothly. Complementary transportation was very convenient and was always on time. They picked us up at the airport near midnight, and dropped us off at our hotel, the night we arrived. sean campbell26 May 2022I am so pleased with the professional work that I had done at the Dentalvac clinic from the first time I inquired in getting an upper zirconia bridge I sent an e mail to Dentalvac from a friend had his teeth done. So I sent a e mail and got a quick response the next day. Not only did I get a reply with a price on how much it would cost. But I was also given hotel with discounted rate for Dentalvac patience. I was picked up at the airport taken to my hotel and had an appointment first thing Monday morning where I was told exactly what would be done and I had a beautiful woman Hazel who made sure I was pick up on time and deliver on time and not to forget all the beautiful assistance who work at Dentalvac all lovely and very helpful all to make me fell welcome. Again I am so pleased I can’t say enough about how friendly everyone was to make me feel comfortable . So on Monday we did x rays Tuesday we had surgery which I was put out. And while I was out they put in 5 post that’s for 5 implants or for my upper bridge after a week of healing temporaie teeth where put in. After 6 mos. Carol Gagliardo20 July 2021I have been to Denta Vac three times now from CT, USA and am very happy with them. Hazel is wonderful and will help you through the whole process from what you will need to get there and home to where to stay, the weather at that time of year and even help you through bouts of homesickness if you are alone and stressed. She is fabulous and I can;t see how I would be able to handle the whole process from start to finish without her. Juan their driver is a sweetheart and gets you where you need to be despite not speaking much English. Dr Baez was so nice and down to earth and made the process and arrangements for the different dentists to be there during my stay to get the work done during the five days we had planned. He then made sure I was okay and that I got to the hotel to rest. (I had all my top teeth removed and 5 implants put in). I love them there. All of them. After being homesick while there I actually missed everyone when I got home. I'm looking forward to my next visit in 4 months. And Costa Rica is an absolute paradise it has everything you could want to experience from Volcanoes to tropical forests and beautiful wild life and beaches.Posted on Google

Joseph Sarubbi25 January 2021Like other reviews before me, there are NOT enough superlatives to express the gratitude I have for the staff at Dentavac. Also, like others, I’m not a big review writer, although I relied heavily on the reviews before me before I chose to travel to Costa Rica for extensive dental work, which is why I’m writing one now. No question it’s a big decision, and I appreciated the reviews to help guide my decision. I live in South Florida and, to have 10-crowns – upper front teeth with the goal of improving my smile – performed in another country is daunting at best, but the cost to accomplish such in the U.S. was so high, I felt it was worth investigating and taking that leap of faith. It was the best decision I’ve made in quite a while!!! Let me start with the facilities. Dentavac has the latest technology for any dental procedure sought. I was tremendously impressed. Now the staff. Near everyone speaks fluent English, making it easy to communicate and reduce any anxieties. The entire staff is so polite and works hard to make you comfortable. From the first communication to the last, Hazel (Patient Coordinator) was wonderful to work with and on top of everything. She was in constant communication throughout the entire process and just a total Sweetheart. And Aaron (sp), the lab technician was skilled and compassionate, and did everything to relieve any anxiety I might have had. Lastly, and most importantly, Dr. Acosta is an amazing dentist!!! Not only did he give me the smile I’ve always dreamed about, his skill and artistry far exceeded anything I could have hoped for. When I was handed a mirror and saw my crowns before they were permanently glued in place, I don’t mind saying I got pretty emotional. I’ve been conversing and emailing with Dr. Gabby Sibaja she was wonderful..always got back with me on the questions that I asked and I had lots. I’ve always wanted a pretty smile and being a mom put me last..No more..Life is too short. Okay, COVID hit and I know we were going to be wearing masks for a-while…so I booked my trip in NOV. Unfortunately because of the pandemic Hazel was not in the office. Fortunately Dr. Acosta, Dr. Baez and Dr. Carr performed my phase 1 of my total restoration. Dr. Baez and Dr. Acosta recommended to leave my upper teeth in and of course replace with new crowns and 3 implants. Bottom arch, my teeth were removed by Dr. Carr a very skilled/kind surgeon. I have to share with you..my bite was very, very bad..lots of impressions done. Dr. Baez and Dr. Acosta were AMAZING, explained everything to me what they were doing and all I can say is PERFECTION. I can’t stop smiling under my mask of course and I’m counting the days till I go back to DentaVac for my Phase 2…My permanent smile. Don’t delay putting your dental work off, Health is number 1. DentaVac is the BEST dental clinic, and the cost savings will also make you SMILE. Ivan Rodriguez21 January 2021I’ve been to Dentavac twice in the last two years for extensive work on my top front six teeth. Here in Florida the cost to replace them and the surgery for a gum infection would had set me back close to $40k. I was very skeptical of going into a different country to get dental work. But, I’m glad that I did. I found Dentavac online and from the initial contact with their office I felt comfortable. They are very attentive and caring. They also provide shuttling services and hotel recommendations to make it easier, in case you don’t want to drive there, I rented a car and booked my own hotel in San Jose the first time and in Jaco Beach the second time. When I arrived at their office, they made me feel welcome and safe. The best part was unlike the states they didn’t offer or push any other services other than what I needed to get done. The final product in my mouth was phenomenal. I couldn’t be any happier. Thank you staff! Especially, Dr. Acosta and Dr. Gaby! I am writing this because I figured anyone who takes the time to research particular clinics are serious. I FOUND A DIAMOND!!! It goes without saying that I am happy with the procedures. The reason I am writing this is because those of us who are adventurous enough to go to a foreign country to get medical treatment already know that it is less expensive and that the work is typically good (same as in most countries,some better than others), my implants feel good and I am as happy as I can be with temps. What I REALLY want you to know is the level of care and compassion I recieved at this clinic, I have never been this well taken care of by and group of people, be it medical, barber, car dealer etc.. in my life! From the moment they took a last minute patient until the hour prior to returning to USA I was treated as though I was the patriarch of that whole office. From the front desk to the Doctors to the lady cleaning the floors everyone was fabolous. They even had a driver pick me up and return me to airport (at no charge) to picking me up every time I had an appointment as well as driving me by the store so I could buy frozen treats. The hotel they recommended brought me frozen cold packs at night where I slept in clean and inexpensive room. The doctor sat down and explained charges COMPLETELY no switch baiting. I could go on and on about how kind my Doctor was not to mention beautiful, had to mention it. You get the idea. Treat yourself to a dental spa you worked hard for ir and deserve the best. Martha Duff14 May 2020Dentavac Dental Clinic is a gem with doctors and staff that offer the best service and dental work that you can receive for half the price of that in the USA! I was on vacation in St Thomas while my front veneer broke in half, and I was going coincidentally to Costa Rica afterwards. Someone on the island recommended Dentavac Dental Clinic in San Jose and once I reached out to them, they organized everything for me Including all the car transfers to and from their office. Their office is equipped with super modern and latest machines, everyone is super efficient, knowledgeable and everyone also speaks English. I was truly impressed and incredibly grateful for the amazing work Dr Luis Baez has done on my front veneer, trying to find the best possible solution for me that is also long lasting. They also made a night guard for my teeth that truly has changed my life and I’m very thankful for all of their hard work on my very specific case. I whole heartedly recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking to do small or big work on their teeth. Deirdre13 March 2020DentaVac is an outstanding team of highly skilled dentists, technicians and support personnel. I highly recommend them over any US dentists I have ever had treat me. The cost estimate from my US dental office was 35k for the same work I had done by traveling to Costa Rica to have the work done by DentaVac Dental clinic professionals for just a bit over 10k. Plus I opted to have my crooked bottom teeth bonded and got several porcelain veneers on my top teeth. I love my teeth and smile so much now and especially the whitened color! Best part was no pain at all. None. The drill never bothered me either as I was well anesthetized. I also had a nice vacation when I was not in the dental chair. I had 12 of my 30 yr old porcelain crowns replaced with much stronger zirconium crowns. All this done over a 2 week period. Now, I admit I had very good dental hygiene and did not need gum work or implants but my friends who told me about DentVac did and they had such a good experience they recommended DentaVac to me. All the dentists speak English and the clinic’s wonderful driving team even picks you up at the airport and everyday at your hotel so no need to worry about transportation. Russell jeffers13 December 2019Outstanding experience! I can’t say enough good things about the level of professionalism and quality of care I experienced at Dentavac dental clinic. I arranged my first appointment while still in the States and as soon as I entered their clinic in Escazú I was greeted by a team of doctors that had reviewed my case and who each worked with me throughout the process performing the various procedures involved in my full mouth restoration. The materials and procedures used were all state of the art and would rival any of the most reputable, higher-end dental clinics in the states. And that’s from first hand experience because I had consultations with a couple before turning to Dentavac for my procedures. Because of the onsite equipment and their own local lab the costs were a fraction of those in the US, shockingly less, plus it allowed for more customization of my implants/veneers. But what really makes Dentavac stand out is the amount of time and the quality of care I was given by the doctors and staff. Everyone speaks English beautifully and the quality of care given so freely at Dentavac is something that you simply don’t see anymore in the US, or something that you rarely can find anymore. I may have come in as a client but when I left I felt like part of the family. Larry Marsh18 September 2019I made my first trip to Denta Vac in 2011 after researching on the internet about dental clinics in Costa Rica and reading reviews from other U.S. citizens. My first trip was for a single implant for a broken tooth and to my amazement it was a nearly a painless procedure accomplished quickly surrounded by a very professional staff. A second trip 4 months later after the implant was secure and the procedure was finished at about half the cost of the same procedure in the States. Years later in 2018 I returned to replace all of my bottom teeth with an all on 5 implant selection. Once again the procedure was nearly painless with the total extraction and implant process taking about 2.5 hrs, and I walked out of the office. With a temporary fixture and three months heal for the implants to have bone growth around them I returned for my permanent teeth. The professionalism exhibited by the staff of Doctors met all my expectations even making feel so very comfortable by everyone there. All appointments were made by the office and a driver picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel on a daily or needed basis. My wife accompanied me on one of my trips and we used that time in Costa Rica to tour and enjoy the scenic country and both coast lines. I would like to thank the staff for treating me as family to include Dr.Luis Baez Astua, Dr. Arturo Acosta M. and Dra.Gabriela Sibaja and Assistants Wisalloca and Magaly. And thanks to Hazel Bravo receptionist who always took care of my needs and transportation. What a great team ! This is my dentist office being a two hour flight from Tampa and I would go there even for just a cleaning. Now for the clincher the entire lower teeth procedure was quoted here in Tampa prior to going there and the same procedure there was less than 1/2 the cost at Clear Choice. With airfare, hotel and meals my total costs were still thousands less than in the States. I would highly recommend Dentavac for your dental needs and would gladly speak to anyone who my have reservations about traveling out of the U.S. for a dental procedure via Dentavac request. Larry L. We live in the U.S. but visit our daughter and family in CR on a regular basis. When our dentist in the U.S. retired, our daughter suggested we start going to her dentist in CR—and, are we ever glad we did! Dr. Baez and his team are absolutely the best and we would recommend them highly! We cannot say enough about their professionalism; their attentiveness and care; and, the sophistication of their technology in assuring the best dental treatment. Baez and Dentavac for close to a year now. I was living in Escazu when I found them for the first time. I had a tooth extracted by another dentist and needed an implant so I thought. I arrived at the office for my visit and was happily greeted by a very professional staff, an English speaking and very well informed team of dentists and surgeons, and an immaculate and state of the art dental office. Dr. Baez communicated my options and gave me a very reasonable price for the work needed. Currently I am back in the US living here permanently and I have to say I am very impressed with the handling of logistics and scheduling from another country. They communicate very effectively and had a driver pick me up at the airport and run me to my appointments with ease. Work done: two root canals, cosmetic chip repair in front tooth, two crowns plus an extraction repaired with a three part bridge (two additional crowns supporting a replacement tooth). How I selected them: The website for the USA Embassy in Costa Rica contains a Medical Practitioner List with the usual non-endorsement disclaimers. Dentavac is on that list. Price: Dentavac website lists prices. Even after upgrading to Zirconia from porcelain on metal I got a much better price relative to my USA quote. I did negotiate some, getting them to drop charges that did not exist in the USA quote. Performance: Dentavac did everything exactly per plan, they provided ALL transportation airport/hotel/clinic including a 3:15 AM transfer to airport at no charge. All on time and arranged automatically by Karina Morales, Patient Coordinator. They even took me to the pharmacist to get antibiotics. The clinic looked as good as that of my USA dentist. They were extremely friendly and the quality of Dr. Gabriela Sibaja’s work exceeded that of my USA dentist. I had reason to check on one of the root canals and my USA endodontist found the work done by Dr. Emilio Ramirez to be excellent. Recommendation: I fully recommend them and I will definitely use them again.Posted on Google

Hygiene is an important issue and they comply with the highest standards. Not only are the doctors very professional, the people at Dentavac are very friendly, polite and reliable. In the past years I had to travel to the Netherlands and was forced to be treated by Dutch dentists. They invariably confirmed that the work done by Dentavac met all their standards. The last five years we have used Dental Vac for crowns, fillings and a root canal. Dental Vac also performs more advanced dental procedures, including implants and complete restorations. Dental Vac operates out of a clean, modern and well equipped facility located on the main road between Santa Ana and Escazu. DentalVac has crowned four of my teeth and performed one root canal. The crowns were made by Dra. Gabriela Sibaja D.D.S.. Gabriela speaks fluent English and does excellent work. When my wife and I lived in the United States, we had excellent dental insurance and our choice of dentists. Gabriela’s skills are comparable to our dentists in the USA. She has been our primary dentist for five years, and has never disappointed us. Gabriela is friendly, highly skilled and a good communicator. Dental Vac has modern equipment and utilizes the latest technology. All of the dentists, dental assistants and office staff are conscientious and service oriented. Dental Vac dentists often inspect and discuss each others work. I appreciate their team approach. I highly recommend Dental Vac to English speakers who are planning to have dental work performed in Costa Rica.
